Today in class we had to measure the temperature of water in a clear pop bottle that was sealed off with tape so that the room air couldn't get in. we taped a thermometer into the bottle and wrote down the temp. every minute for 20 minutes. Everyone in the class had a different type of soil or just water in their bottles and they had a different kind of bottle. there were some that were painted on the top to symbol clouds in a sky and some like ours were clear to symbol no clouds. We all had a lamp that was 6 inches away from the bottle to symbol the heat.we saw that our temp. went up and would stay there for a couple of minutes and then it would go up another point and then stay there and the process continued until the end where it stayed the same and the last one. this shows that when there isn't clouds in the sky there is more direct sunlight on the earth making the water that is n the land evaporate.Evaporation is the process by which molecules in a liquid state (water) spontaneously become gaseous water vapor.
When you are in a drought the temperatures are usually higher than normal. The severity of the drought depends upon the degree of moisture, duration and the size of the affected area.

There are a lot of issues that are affecting our climate today and one of them happens to be drought. A drought is a period of drier-than-normal conditions that results in water-related problems. A drought happens mostly around hot, dry, and places by the equator. These places that are affected by drought are mostly in India, Iran, the U.S, west and South Africa, Brazil and Australia. In these countries the weather is warm most of the time so there fore the sun is out making the temperature go up. In most of these places the temperature is hotter then ours that makes the water and land dry up.

We humans also have something to do with why there is drought in the world today. When we do things at home or anywhere that has to do with water we never stop to think what we are wasting because we are so use to thinking that water will never run out. When we take a shower or bath we are using so much water to fill the tub or to run over our bodies thinking that it isn’t anything. Well it is something and we need to take shorter showers and not take baths all that often. Washing cars, dishes, cloths, filling up a pool all take water in order to get them clean. But why waste your car all the time or wash cloths that don’t need to be washed. All you are doing is wasting water that other people in other countries are dieing for literally.
Some weather conditions that are needed in order for a drought happen is very dry and hot weather in a year where they are to get little rainfall. This alone leads to a rapid increase of drought. The lack of precipitation along with very high evaporation levels leads to deteriorating crop conditions. . When this happens our dirt that was once good for planting is now dry like clay. Animals can’t drink, we can’t drink, they can’t eat, and we can’t eat because there is not enough water to grow food and drink. These conditions cause Hunger and famine, Thirst, dehydration, Disease, Wildfires, weight loss, and the worst of them all death. Our environment is impacted also not just humans. If there is no water then our lakes, rivers, ponds, and any other form of water for fish will go down. They wont be able to live and we wont be able to fish. There for is business depend on fishermen to bring them fish to sell they wont be able to because there wont be that much for them to catch.
There is one way to predict a drought and that is through monitoring the rainfall, river flow and soil moisture. “This depth of information, along with historical information on El Niño and La Niña weather patterns, enables NIWA scientists to provide a comprehensive assessment of the likelihood of flood or drought in any given area of the country.” http://www.niwa.cri.nz/edu/students/drought Droughts are issued over the t.v. someone from the department of environmental protection will call in or write a letter stating that they need to tell the people of those countries that will be effected by the up coming drought.
